Upon our arrival in Ankara, our first stop is Anıtkabir, the eternal resting place of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of our Republic. At this monument, which symbolizes our Republic, we visit the mausoleum and have the opportunity to closely examine Atatürk’s personal belongings, photographs, and documents from the period in the museum section.

Then, we visit the II. Turkish Grand National Assembly Building (Republic Museum), which is one of the important witnesses of our Republic's history. This structure, used as the parliament building between 1924 and 1960, bears valuable traces of the founding years of the Republic. By seeing the parliament hall of that period, the historical podium, and Atatürk’s office, we feel the atmosphere of that time.

The Ulucanlar Prison Museum is located in the Altındağ district of Ankara. Established in 1925, Ulucanlar Prison was one of Turkey's most important prisons for many years. Many famous writers, journalists, politicians, and thinkers were held here during the Republic era. The prison was closed down in 2006 and was transformed into a museum opened to visitors in 2011.

Today, the Ulucanlar Prison Museum serves as a cultural space that exhibits significant memories witnessing past events, living conditions of prisoners, and Turkey’s political history. The museum offers visitors an impressive experience with its architecture preserving historical texture and its exhibitions.

After our visits filled with history, we turn our route to Ankara Castle, one of Ankara’s must-see places. Once we reach the highest point of our castle, we take a view of all of Ankara. You can shop at various souvenir shops inside the castle, sip your coffee against the view, or take a walk within the castle grounds.

Then we proceed to our return journey.

NOTE: Our arrival time in Erdek may be later than planned due to road traffic, congestion, fog, and weather conditions. No specific time is given for the return time; an average time is indicated according to program flow.

OUR RECOMMENDATIONS:

Having comfortable shoes during the trip will make your walks more enjoyable.

And most importantly, don’t forget to bring your camera, charger, and power bank!
