AYVALIK-CUNDA-ÖREN- DEVIL’S TABLE TOUR Places to Visit *Ören *Ayvalık *Sarımsaklı *Cunda Island *Rahmi Koç Museum *Küçükköy *Devil’s Table Meeting Points Erdek Havuzlu Meydan 05:00 Erdek Migros Front: 05:15 We start the day with a pleasant beginning by picking up our guests from the designated meeting points. In the first leg of our journey, we take a breakfast break to recharge our energy. Then, we head to Ören, a tranquil and peaceful coastal town in Balıkesir. Ören charms its visitors with its crystal-clear sea, broad beaches, and lush resting areas, while also drawing attention with its historical and natural texture. In this area, which is protected as a natural site, you can take short walks under the ancient oak trees and meet the white and winged Pegasus Statue, which has become a symbol of the region. This mythical figure serves as an important landmark that sheds light on Ören’s rich history. After our free time here, we move on to Cunda Island, known as the pearl of Ayvalık. Cunda, the only inhabited island among the 22 islands, is also Turkey’s fourth largest island. Since 1976, this special island has been protected as a site area, offering visitors a completely different atmosphere with its historical and cultural wealth. Our first visit on Cunda Island is to the Rahmi Koç Museum, which has been restored and given new life. Formerly known as Taksiyarhis Church, this building was transferred to the Koç Group in 2011 and opened as a museum in 2014. It houses many interesting artifacts, ranging from nostalgic objects to pieces related to maritime and industry. As we walk through the streets of Cunda, time seems to rewind among the stone mansions, historical monasteries, and churches left by the Greeks. Our guests can take plenty of photos in this enchanting atmosphere and enjoy the sea view. Next, we head to Ayvalık town center, famous for its stone houses, bay-windowed mansions, and cobbled streets. This city, which hosts over 4,000 historical buildings, offers free time for shopping. Guests wishing to buy local olive oil, soap, or souvenirs can do so. We then turn our course to Küçükköy (formerly known as Yeniçarohori), a village where history and art intertwine. The history of this village dates back to 1462, during Fatih Sultan Mehmet's expedition to Lesbos. Founded by janissaries, this settlement later transformed into a cultural mosaic where the Greeks also settled. Today, the stone houses with Greek architecture have turned into art galleries and workshops, making Küçükköy a living art village. During our free time here, you can explore the village streets and observe this transformation closely. We conclude our tour at the Devil’s Table, one of Ayvalık’s most stunning viewpoints. According to legend, this hill is known as the first place the devil set foot on Earth, and it holds both natural and mythological significance with its volcanic lava structure. While sipping our tea on this hill, known for its footprint on the ground, we can watch the magnificent sunset and take wonderful photos. After our unforgettable moments at the Devil’s Table, we embark on our return journey with our Kyzikos Travel vehicle. We thank our valued guests and look forward to our next adventure together. NOTE: Depending on road density, traffic, fog, and weather conditions, our arrival time in Erdek may be later than scheduled. A specific return time cannot be provided; average time will be indicated based on the program flow.
